Personalized banking services can reduce financial stress

Most people want their banking options to be simple - complex account information and impersonal service can turn any consumer away from a bank. But did you know that feeling satisfied with your banking institution can also result in lower levels of financial stress? If you're running a company, you're probably already concerned about training, staff levels and expansion plans, so it's important to choose small-business banking options that won't give you something else to worry about.

Service critical to customers
A recently released survey indicates 60 percent of consumers satisfied with their bank have low or no financial stress, while half are optimistic about the future of their finances. This indicates better service and personalized options may hold the key to happiness for account holders.

What's important to consumers when they're seeking a banking institution? Seventy-five percent of respondents aged 18 to 34 claimed friendly service was an important factor when choosing a bank, while 82 percent of those aged 35 to 54 said the same. Those 55 and older were most likely to say personal and efficient service was important - 89 percent of those in this age group said it was an important part of their bank choice.

Customers are also clear about what kind of service they want their banks to provide. Eighty-two percent of respondents took into account friendly service from bank employees, 62 percent wanted knowledgeable advice and 60 percent wanted their banks to be a reliable financial resource.

Finding the right banking institution
As survey respondents indicate, a high level of customer service and personalized solutions are important for bank consumers, especially those running small businesses and keeping track of company finances and cash management options.

It can be hard to find a financial institution that offers the efficient service, strong advice and custom solutions at larger banks, as you may feel lost in the shuffle and as though you're just another number rather than an individual with an important business account. Looking to feel more valued and receive more personalized treatment? Try looking at the options small and mid-sized banks can provide. You may think these institutions can't possibly offer all the services larger banks can, but that's definitely not the case these days. Smaller banks are not only keeping up in terms of technology, they're exceeding expectations by providing excellent customer service, keeping their commercial banking clients happier and less worried about their finances.
